This number just called me and a robotic voice stated that there is a fraud charge registered by HMC under my name and if I do not answer the call I will get arrested shortly. This is not the behaviour of HMRC. Something needs to be done about these thieves.
'Carphone Warehouse' I've had previous ones from 'carphone warehouse' and asked them to take me off their call list.' I opened by saying this. The man replied 'no no no I can't do that.' This is a scam where they pretend to be BT and will give you te above number to call with an id code to verify their authenticity. They tell you they want to shut down your Broadband for 5 days due to errors - blah blah. Probably after they will try to get access to your pc in some way. Don t know cos I crashed out and phoned BT who said it was a scam.
