This number started ringing my mobile after virgin sold it to o2
01223931099 rang with a very loud background noise proporting to be a call centre. The caller, with a strong foreign accent, alleged he was from sky refund centre; however, when I said ok in a less than enthusiastic manner, the caller hung up. This is most unlike any sky call centre I have experienced. I suspect it to be a scam.

This is fraud. A message on my answer machine said they were from my bank and two large transactions were coming off my account. A quick check of my banking app proved this to be nonsense.

SCAM This number was the first of three (others were 0208 888 7676 and 01782 254545) which I received on 17th and 18th July 2023, telling me I had security problems with users accessing my computer files. Called every day now from a number beginning 0208 xxxxxx. This number 0208 275 4022 today. So many scam calls now I let every call go to the answerphone and just use the mobile, this is so persistent that I called back from mobile. There was no connection, tried the other niumbers beginning 0208 received in the last 7 days - BT recording saying numbers unrecognised, Have no idea if this is a scammer or genuine - but if its genuine they are doing a poor job as you cant call back.

Rather ask them to verify what they know about you and perhaps you may have a chance to find out where they got your phone number or data from.
