You get robocalls until you pick up from one Bournemouth number, then the next day you get your "local" energy adviser calling you - just got rid at that point so unsure whether a scam, but certainly unsolicited, and since my number is in the TPS database for not getting unsolicited calls, you can bet your life it's a dodgy company not bothered about following the law or regulations.
had a missed call from 01793 675162 rang back to find it was a company from AEV They asked if I had a missed phone call from them, I said no - so they rung off.

This number is very dodgy, rings with a local dial tone so that you think it's someone local that you may know, I have since blocked this number
I called back the number after abvout the 10th missed call. They are a company called MJE who want me to make a claim for missold PPI due to a loan or credit card. I didn t take PPI so told them they were wrong. Asked how they got my number, they get their phone list from a company called DLG Marketing. Told them to take me off the list, we ll see if I get anymore calls.

I rang them back and ascertained from them that they had bought a quantity of telephone numbers from various sources and their computer was ringing them trying to get a positive response to their FREE BOILER initiatave. They are based in Macklesfield SK10 1AF
Obviously a (badly) spoofed number. London numbers don't start with (020) 1xx, only 020 3xx, 020 7xx, and 020 8xx.

23 Nov 2021 - Silence at first, then a click and background call centre noise. An Asian person then said "Hello Maam, it's "Jacks from Carphone Warehouse. How are you today?" SCAM Called to tell me my internet was slow and they would fix it. They tried to send me to a website to fix it but when I asked if I could have a number to call them back to make sure they were legit they hung up. They then called back to ask when was a convenient time to call me and I restated I wanted to call them and they hung up again. The second time the call came from 01483828426.
