wanted my son, who has not lived here for 10 years, tried to get his details from me, stating input error. If my son wanted them to contact him he certainly would not have given a number he hasn t used for 10 years. Automated call Ostensibly from BT, saying suspicious (or similar!) activity on my phone and internet, so will be closing them down. Press 1 ........ etc ! This is the second scamming call within a few minutes, but the other was from a mobile pretending to be from Amazon. The scammers are really active today!

PPI, as soon as you block they just call on another number, comes up as Leeds, Macclesfield, Runcorn I didn t think companies were allowed to pass on your details after GDPR came in so would be interested to know how these companies still get our details

Fraud Got a phone call from this number. I answered the call and nobody answered for about 20 seconds. Then a very thick Indian accent said "Hello, this is Jenny from BT Openreach.....". I replied "No your not...your a scammer" and hung up. I know and live in this dialing code and there are no BT Openreach offices in this area. Given the accent and that it is BT Openreach (which I don't even use) I suspect this is an Indian based scam call centre.
Said it was British Telecom , my internet had been compromised and would be turned off. Usual press 1 etc. Since when did BT use mobile numbers for the sort of thing?
