This was a really bad computer generated voice, just like a cheap Daley. The machine said that they were from the tax office and I was to call the number right away or face the consequences! Bit has rash but so funny, I really didn’t want it to finish as it is lockdown and I was bored. All joking aside this is definitely a scam and someone will get scammed! Caller claimed to be from BT openreach and stated I had a problem with my router and internet connection. Got quite angry when I explained there was nothing wrong with my internet connection (I was on-line working, and kids on-line schooling...) I hung up.
Called me on hands-free whilst I was driving. Checked on this site for info, and that may explain why nobody spoke at the other end, as they could probably hear I was driving. Have added their number to my book in case they try again.
