How this has been given a safe rating is beyond me!! Claim they are from O2 and send a code and then ask for it. They will then proceed to send you a phone by mistake and ring you back in a panic and say they sent it to you by mistake and can you send it back to them. Just hang up!!

I got a call this morning from this same and it sounded like an Indian person on the other line asking for my name and then it immediately dropped. I call back the number and the voice note confirmed that the number has been theft from another user and is now been used for SCAM and that none shouldn’t entertained it. I’ve now blocked this number on my phone. SCAM

Irish traveller scammers, they arrived in a pair to purchase goods with a fake banking app. Used every excuse possible. Probably a burner number but blocked. Sent them away without the goods and they called back trying to “show me the reference number” and arrange a call with bank of Ireland.

Some one called on my partner's mobile phone - a number that she shares very rarely if not at all. Toby, the caller, announced that my partner had won the lottery, to which she responded, "Oh, really? Do you want my banking details?" At which point 'Toby' hung up. Telephone call from 07979 752324 at 10:23 on Thursday 23 March. Female caller requested one minute to ask personal questions. Replied "no", however female caller carried on speaking. Did not answer any questions. Believe caller fishing for personal information in order to start some type of fraud. Female caller then terminated call, so number then blocked immediately.

SCAM claimed to be insurance on domestic appliances up for renewal - quoted my name, address and phone number (all as per phone directory) at me,then asked for my date of birth for verification - I asked him to tell me my date of birth so that I could verify it and (surprise, surprise) the line went dead.

"David", in his very difficult-to-understand accent, said he was calling from '3' about upgrading my phone. Do I have an iPhone or a Samsung? I don't even have a contract with 3, so this has got to be some sort of scam. I rang off.
