Had a call claiming to be HMRC saying I've committed tax fraud and that action was being taken against me. I was told to press 1 to find out more so I hung up as I have read somewhere that as soon as you press a number, your phone can be hacked or something bad like that. I know for a fact that I haven't committed tax fraud and I don't think HMRC would phone. They usually send letters in the first instance. Therefore I'm flagging this up as dangerous.

Continued from before.... Steps I did: 1. Massively panicked 2. Forwarded the message to 7726, and followed their instructions and text STOP to the number (83463). 3. Logged it with the ICO. 4. Called the number (0330....5) in the morning and couldn't get through. 5. Called Three, told them about all the information I'd sought out and how good they'd been. I would suggest you will upload remote software for them to hack your passwords etc if you do. I just hang up now.
