I too received a call at a funeral at 1020 this morning about so-called PPI, when asked how they got a ex directory number, they were reluctant to answer their source. I informed them a complaint will be submitted for their harrassment, I have also sent a letter to the BBC Panorama. programme who are investigating companies under various names. Fraud They claim to be HMRC and you will be prosecuted if you don't return the call. The language gets quite amateurish towards the end of the message. It is obviously a fraud as I have a self-assessment online account with HMRC and any messages they want to send me are processed through that account. Not sure what the scam is but just ignore it.

Says things like ?and how do you know your life insurance isn?t now up for review? to try and fish for information regarding when your life insurance is up for review to make them sound legitimate. Also said ?we?re not dodgy, I think it is cause of the Welsh accent people often assume I?m from a call centre?. Hung up when I told him I was at work. I think they guess who you have life insurance with so they sound legit. They call around once a month.
