Sadly this IS British gas I phoned them and they admitted that yes they do make presumptive appointments for smart meter installs with the onus on the customer to cancel them The appointment was also on my British Gas online account There is currently NO obligation to have smart meters installed Sadly you cant cancel the appointment online you have to phone them Ive not cancelled yet but put my details in an online complaint and instructed them to cancel it If need be Ill make the call before the appointmen
Answered and automated message saying it was the HMRC and they were preparing a court summons and press 1 to speak to case adviser, I hung up and decided to contact HMRC directly and they informed me that it is a con. Advised to report it to the Fraud dept

TAXES / HMRC scam. Robo caller claiming that I'm the subject to tax evasion investigations and a warrant has been issued for my arrest. Pressed a number to speak to someone with a heavy indian accent called Alfred Collins who was a tax investigator for HMRC. I laughed in his ear and hung up.

Said they were part of a government scheme regarding loft insulation we have installed & there were concerns it may be mouldy ( there is nothing wrong with it) but don’t panic they were offering a survey, ffree of charge of course. He was obviously reading from a script. When I started asking more questions he asked if I was the homeowner and I said no I’m their daughter & they hung up! Very suspicious to me. I was trying to dig some info on the internet, don't want to call them back until I know who might be calling but no luck. Some idea who is it? People did someone answer it?
