Not a good line but sounded like call centre

This number called me yesterday, and several times today. I picked up the most recent call and a girl laughed down the phone and hung up. No attempt to sell me anything or talk about pensions, as other comments have said, just straightforward nuisance call. Have now blocked them.

Amazon pre recorded message saying £299 had been spent at amazon and inviting enquiry.

This is a Debt collection company as has been said above, they call 3-4 times and then drop off. They ring for short bursts and then that s it.

Pension review scam call who, when you ask them to remove you from your phone list, think it's funny to call you back often. Don't answer and block the number.

These people obtain, STEAL, your tel. number from your ip address via metadata. Ever come accross annoying adverts when browsing online which doesn t let you close? ie. Engadget, youtube etc... Mine was a survey which popped up whilst online and I had to wait 20secs inorder to dismiss that advert. Enduring the agonising 20 secs. I didn t answer. Listened to voicemail, could hear the background noise of a busy call-centre or open-plan office for a couple of seconds then went to recorded music.

They asked for my wife - using her maiden name and we ve been married for 11 years, where do they get their info from?! Apparently 01234 339 numbers are allocated to BT, who in turn have sublet them to rogue operators like this. Anyroad: add this no. to your blocklist. You can t live without a phone with nuisance call protection nowadays.

Direct loan company. Not a scam, you've obviously made an application with them. An 0208 number is a standard landline number and not a premium rate number.

Report the number to Ofcom (Easily found using a search engine).

When I first answered phone, extremely loud background noise (sounded like a railway station). Indian accented mail asked for Mrs ***. When I asked what it was about he said it was about my internet connection. I started to tell him I had no problems with my internet connection, but he hung up before I finished the sentence! Knew he was rumbled I suspect.
