have had this number call me 4 times today each time i answered they hung up so its now blocked and deleted
SCAM This was almost definitely a scam of some kind. The caller spoke with accented English in a location with a huge amount of background chatter. He claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse offering very low prices on iPhone, Samsung and Huawei mobile phones. I do not think it was actually Carphone warehouse, as I have never provided my details to them and I would expect they had a call centre environment that sounded a bit less like the outside of a busy London pub on a sunny evening.
This is a scam, the call is a recorded message, claiming transactions have been made on your credit card. Don't answer it!
Phoned mobile. Went straight to voicemail as unknown number. No message so wrong number, idiot or dubious with dubious the most likely. Now blocked.

Fraud claimed to be national insurance hotline claiming my national insurance number was being suspended unless I pressed 1 for help etc.
Very hard sales tactics and don?t take no for an answer. When I explained that I didn?t want the insurance, his tone changed and wouldn?t stop trying to convince me that I was being ridiculous for not wanting it. Thankfully, I didn?t give in but as others have said, others could easily feel obliged to. Appalling service and it nearly put me off using AO because of it. Looks like a new number for scammers. Claimed to be from the "Technical Department of Sky", regarding my internet connection. Apparently my router has been sending them reports every time I go online. They hung up as soon as I told them my Sky router hasn't been plugged in for about three years.

My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. They estimate readings and send someone over to check for themselves. Southern Electric have made a note of this number. I advis

PPI, as soon as you block they just call on another number, comes up as Leeds, Macclesfield, Runcorn I didn t think companies were allowed to pass on your details after GDPR came in so would be interested to know how these companies still get our details
It literally says on the Sky website that this is their number so whether you want the call or not its not someone pretending to be from Sky

SCAM Call initiated by pressing 1 from within a voicemail The voicemail announced a potentially fraudulent purchase on Amazon of £399. They asked if purchase made. We said no. They then asked to get in front of our computer to check security. At that point call was terminated.
