SCAM!! Leasing Airbnb properties (advertised on FB marketplace) that do not exist!! Cleverly they've linked their web page up to Airbnb's page so when you look for support, it will take you to the legit page, but the booking page is a complete scam! It'll reject your payment when you confirm your booking and offer you the option to do a wire transfer. The scammer will give you "Airbnb's bank details" (confirmed by an agent, Airbnb do NOT have a bank account) to place your deposit into.

Answered because it was a local number, it was a recorded message informing me she was from Visa protection (or some such) and a £300 payment to Amazon and £1000 and odd to elsewhere were pending, press #1 for help if I had not authorised them. Information 07355 118732 sent me a text message. HSBC: Direct Debit successfully set up to EE for 183GBP, if this was NOT YOU call us on 01313785729. I don`t bank with HSBC, but anyway, tried to call the number given. This just rings for a couple of minutes then get a message saying the mailbox is full. Therefore, both the mobile and landline numbers given are SPAM.

Absolute scam. Claimed to be from OpenReach told me they would switch the internet off for 72 hours as our IP address was public and it was a GDPR issue. When I told them to make our IP address private as they actually own the internet, they told me they couldn't. I had to run a software on my laptop to do it. Literally do not do anything they say!

Text scam. Seems like text message from Royal Mail re missed delivery. Link in text takes you to what appears to be Royal Mail website ( but is not ) and says £1.45 needed for redelivery. I did not go any further but I presume the next step would have been a request for bank or card details. I checked with Post Office and they confirm they do not send texts for failed deliveries - they still leave cards.
Do not ring this number!!! They are not PAYPAL. These are scammers trying to take ur money! Decline any money request via your PayPal account. Forward the email that you received to [email protected] DO NOT GIVE ANY BANK/CREDIT CARD DETAILS!!!!

I knew it was a hoax call, had them before, so asked him twice what the signals were and he put the phone down.
