If I get a genuine text, I don't then search that number on the internet and then make a comment on a site that deals with dodgy phone numbers. Fraud - tell you that HMRC have issued a warrant for your arrest and to press 1 then they leave the connection open at their end and charge you premium rates for the call. Please don't answer - people have lost up to £300 pressing 1 and then they continually try you on different numbers every day after this. This should have been stopped long ago by the authorities - it's a disgrace that it hasn't been.

Said that they worked with my supplier but couldnt tell me who it was. They are obviously a telemarketing company who are looking to sell details to electricity suppliers for future sales. I have been abroad for 2 months and started to receive calls at night in the second week of being away (due to time difference I guess) on average once a week. I have never answered & no message is left. Although the number shows as a regular number on phone call list you can t return the call using the number. On googling area code it shows as Glasgow, & on googling the whole number various sites come up with people recounting similar stories - so I will try to block number / not answer...and would advise
