I contacted Barclaycard and they confirmed that this is the anti-fraud department, took me through a few security questions to verify some recent transactions on my account. Nothing to worry about, this is good customer service.
It was a woman on behalf of AO.com trying to sell me a warranty on my washing machine i bought last year. Gave it the hard sell asking me about my day and all about my purchase, then after 3rd time of me telling her i wasn't interested she said "oh ok bye" and hung up.

Said overseas people had hacked my account and using it for illegal purposes, when I questioned who they were got really aggressive. Said I was going to call Virgin. I have and reported to their fraud team.
