SCAM! Following several silent/scam calls, I normally screen all calls with my answering machine, but decided to pick up this time. Voice at other end said he was calling about a problem with my "Virgin Media broadband". I don't have Virgin Media broadband to told him to piss off! Beware, this is a scam intending to defraud you of money. It was an automated message, informing me that gambling.com had taken £1,100.00 from my bank and Amazon had taken £300.00. I was supposed to press 1 to authorise the Amazon payment. I put the phone down.

My work phone was called by this number, and got a recorded message, ostensibly from my bank, saying the two large transactions, one of which was to Amazon for £999 had been blocked, and said that I had a choice to either release the transactions or speak to a representative. This number is supposedly based in Slough, but that's not where my bank is, so I ignored it.

Called me a total of three times. I missed the first, a couple hours later they rang again and it was an Indian man claiming to be from CarphoneWarehouse. I hung up and they tried to ring again but I didn’t pick up.
I was called from this number allegedly 'Virgin media' did not trust the caller so dialed it back to find out it was a residential number whose number had been scammed. On calling Virgin and my bank fortunately they never got anything. Just hang up and block number.
