Just to confirm, after my previous post I reported this number to the police, who said it definitely is a scam, and that Microsoft would never call you about this sort of thing. These people will generally want remote access to your computer to "fix a virus" or something like that. They show you some files that they know every computer has and tell you they re harmful, which is completely untrue. They then use the remote access to steal from you. When I answered the call a man said he was calling from a security company which installed alarms etc - I said I was not interested and he said ok and I switched off phone. It was to my mobile number which I have only given to friends and family - cannot understand how I am now getting calls on this phone mainly from phones which appear to be in the North of England. Lots of times no-one answers but equally I do not answer most of them as presume they are scams

SCAM, very clever scam claiming to be from Barclays mobile banking, they send you a sms message first informing you that a new device has been registered to your mobile banking app. They request you to call the number quoting a code they sent, when you call the number, they already have your name and welcome you by your name. They then request you to log in to your banking app and generate a code. (The one I gave them was NICE TRY A-HOLE) the person said thanks and hung up. Be very careful
