They ask you to press one to confirm your details and give wrong numbers so you correct them and before you know it they have the info they rewuire. But, i knew I hadnt bought from amazon for weeks, I spoke to my bank they checked it abd took doen the phone number so their fraud department could look into it.

An aggressively annoying female American voice asking for me by name, late evening, saying that it was a personal call, and refusing to say who they were, other than their Christian name, or why they were phoning. I refused to confirm that anyone of that name was present and hung up. Then I put the number into google search, and found this site. A narrow escape. Well done shouldianswer.

Called again today about a minor prang my daughter was involved in 16 months ago. When quizzed they claim that they were given our number by our insurers, but this is not true. Fortunately for my daughter she is away at Uni and they don t have her mobile. As other posters have said they don t take "No" for an answer and might ring back if you hang up on them. I was heartened by the post which said the company was in difficulty, perhaps this will stop the calls.
Husband answered, voice asked for me and so he asked how he could help and they hung up.

Mr. caller spoke very fast and did not want to repeat your name or company name. He asked about holidays in the last three years but he did not want to answer the question why he wants to know.

When I picked up the phone I was told I was being called as I had had an accident. It wouldn't have been me anyway as I had answered my wife's mobile phone !! I asked who the company who the company was... I had an answer mumbled back at me... Then asked whether I would like to discuss the accident - I asked who had asked that the company call me.... and the caller hung up ! Technique - asked them a question, every time they ask you one !!

The same as the SSA scams in America. DO NOT ANSWER .. hang up on them, there is no arrest warrant in your name, please do not fall for this scam.
