There seem to be many unknown callers. They tend to stop after six rings, so we simply let them stop without picking up. Annoying, all the same.

This unknown number has been calling me for days before I got the chance to finally answer. I didn t understand the man s name nor from which company he was calling, but he said something to the effect that I d get a refund for the bank charges I allegedly paid over the past few years. He then asked me about some personal information that he needed for the transaction. Seems like a scam - I wouldn t answer and just hung up.
Legal advice, don't bother answering
Repeatedly asking me if was Mr ? but refused to identify themselves despite numerous requests.
Called saying they had been informed I had been in a car accident recently which was not correct. They read script despite, answers confirming this provided information is incorrect.

SCAM Received an automated message from this number, claiming to be HM Revenue and Customs, threatening "legal consequences" if they didn't hear back from me or my solicitor. The voice sounded like a basic text-to-speech engine, so doubtful anyone would fall for this, but wanted to leave this note seeing as no one else has yet.

Young guy called my mums home number (she s in her 70 s) and said that she had over paid money in to her bank and they needed to refund it and started asking for date of birth so she hung up. Be very careful with company! Avoid speaking to them!!!!

Got a call today from a foreign woman claiming to be from "Consumer Lifestyles" asking me to do a survey on my "lifestyle" ie shopping habits, likes and dislikes, all the usual crap to illicit personal details from you and even how to stop unwanted calls!! Boy, did I laugh especially when I said "Like the one your giving me now!" They keep calling me, in the states. I thought it might be business or a friend, but just a gent with an Indian accent starting a pitch. I think the "block" feature on my android should be on all phones, then these fellows will have to work for a living. Nice story, the one above "Manchester".
Automat Called today, 14/08/2020 10.28 am saying my account has been debited £699 or similar and they were amazon. I hung up as I think it is a scam .

Had recorded call from this number purporting to be from TalkTalk advising to press 2 or broadband would be disconnected within 2 hours.
Claimed to be from Sky, I don't have sky so I spent a lot of time asking if they were going to supply me with Sky so that I could take advantage of their services & I insisted that it had to be supplied free. The oriental sounding lady really didn't get it. Eventually she asked if I had Sky & I replied that since she was from Sky I must have or she wouldn't be calling, but just now I couldn't remember what I'd done with it. She gave up.

"Industrial Workers Union" scam from Derby had been ringing me daily for around three weeks. Finally gave in to temptation and picked up. "We re totally legit" and "a government body" the man said. Basically boiled down to cold calling people on a tradesman database looking to get money out of past employers for supposed hearing loss. These people are the scum of the earth and the reason this country is going down the tubes. Get a real job before it s too late! Don t trust anyone that asks for more details
