Vague, 'time-sensitive' threat of legal action, allegedly from the HMRC. I doubt it very much. "Get ready to face the legal consequences," it says. Utter rubbish. Complete scam.
SCAM Not that it is very dangerous to have someone call up and say they have found a problem with your computer unless you give them more than the time of day, but it is definitely annoying.
SCAM / SPAM Not sure what to put this under, but they called me saying that I had a case at HMRC and said I would be arrested if I don't press one.
I have also had the silent and then Goodbye calls from this number. Today I spoke to two of their agents on two seperate calls. The company is called Consumer Care Direct based in Manchester and claim to save money for you, as long as you give them some. After telling the first caller that I would be reporting them to TPS I received another call 3 minutes later from an arrogant agent calling himself Victor. Someone claiming to be from BT saying my internet had been compromised. They knew my name and address. When I accused them of being a criminal they replied "Of course I'm not, you idiot". Any doubts I had about their authenticity vanished at that point!

I have been contacted by this number every day (some time twice a day)for the past week. each time it has been for the same contract opportunity each time I tell them NO! Their English is very very bad I can hardly understand them. They are all from India. Research show me if you contract through them they don t pay up. IT Contractors Avoid this company.
