Allegedly from bank indicating suspicious activity and asking me to resolve it by logging on to a given web site.

Fraud - this was an automated call supposedly from HMRC, which said that there was a tax fraud case in my name and unless I pressed 1 and speak to the officer overseeing the case. If I didn't, there would be a warrant issued and I would be arrested shortly. This is disgusting - what if it had gone to a vulnerable or confused person. It didn't mention my name, but if someone is frightened enough that will not register.
Said they were ringing from combined authority re questions about personal data.Not sure if genuine or not.
I've just been called by this number but they hung up as soon as I picked it up

I have calls from this number nearly every day when I don t answer they call my mobile straight away, I did answer one day and told them to stop calling but they don t listen so I just let it ring then answer machine comes on they don t leave any message but it s just cost them the price of a call. So anyone having calls from this number just hang up and don t be fooled by their soft talk and don t give them any of your bank card details as its all a scam. Hope this helps other people.

This number called me several times, but the call went silent. I called the number back (located in Shetlands) and I was put in to a queue which kept saying "Your call is important to us, please hold for the next available agent". After waiting for almost 4 minutes I hung up. This is probably another scam caller who has been banned from every other UK city so now they ve been forced to set up shop in the Shetlands. I ve now blocked the number.

My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. Looks like a new number for scammers. Claimed to be from the "Technical Department of Sky", regarding my internet connection. Apparently my router has been sending them reports every time I go online. They hung up as soon as I told them my Sky router hasn't been plugged in for about three years.
