Fraud He made me fall in love with him. Told me he had a £370,000 contract in Turkey to sign. But, after checking out the hotel (how did he pay the bill) had an accident on way to airport. And wanted me to pay the hospital bill and flights home. Mind you he was a businessman. Who would go abroad without their credit/debit cards and travel insurance. It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.

I missed the call they rang at 7:17pm who rings at this hour? ????♂️ it's most likely spam as Google doesn't show that it belongs to any reputable company. Also no idea how they have my number so I'll just block it for that reason alone.

Message left was incomplete. Robotic voice said “bank account. So enjoy using Amazon Prime Services or to unsubscribe from service speak to our Amazon Service Manager, press and 1.” I would not trust the fact that it is a mobile number, incomplete robotic Amazon message, etc. but cannot be certain.

Persistently calling the last couple of digits of the number change to like 5176 or 5274 or 5175 etc. They call at antisocial hours eg Sunday mornings etc. I suspect, although I never answer, that they’re some kind of debt collector for councils.
Known scam 0845 and 0843 numbers call for a second or two. They rely on you to call back as the number looks official. You are then played a recorded message that is designed to keep you on the line as the call is charged at over a £1 per minute. So you end up paying for the scam and your phone company probably won't help as you made the call willingly.
