Fraud Got a phone call from this number. I answered the call and nobody answered for about 20 seconds. Then a very thick Indian accent said "Hello, this is Jenny from BT Openreach.....". I replied "No your not...your a scammer" and hung up. I know and live in this dialing code and there are no BT Openreach offices in this area. Given the accent and that it is BT Openreach (which I don't even use) I suspect this is an Indian based scam call centre.

I had a call today from a South African sounding lady, from London number 020 8089 6127 said she was calling from a company called Teabag that got my suspicions up straight away, asked to speak to me by name, so she already had my name and phone number somehow. Asked me for "Final Payment" on a "contract" (non-existent) for maintaining domestic appliances, saying it was due today, and that a paper receipt would be sent to my hone address, which the caller asked me to verify. When I said the address was correct, I also said he should have sent an invoice earlier, but he then immediately hung up.

Very persistent - when I told them I didn't know my postcode they called back the following night. Even provided me with a (mobile!) number I could call to check that they really were Vodafone.
