asked for his no. name (damon) last name he did not know what his last name was??? called me from 01999 999 999 asked for mr and gave me mrs name when pushed, total wrong postcode etc after quite a long call (saved someone else from this person) he told me i was a stupid man for wasting his time. Definitely HSBC fraud department. It s a separate call centre to the central one as I was taken aback at the different "customer handling" of the fraud dept i.e. not as warm as the central team. It s a genuine number, just avoids the queues of the central number you d normally call.

The calls are scams. They originate from Asia using spoofed numbers. Use your telephone provider's call-blocking service if they offer it.

Received 2 calls from this number which purports to be from Santander fraud dept. A recorded message asks that I cal back on a freephone number entering a 3 digit code. I am suspicious of calls of this type and will first check with Santander to verify whether it is a real message or not.

Currently in the US and just had a call from this number. I didn t answer but found this page so I ll endorse peoples comments about being contacted whilst abroad. I ve recently added my mobile number with the Telephone Preference Service but it can take a month before that kicks in.
