I am local to Wrexham and have recently had 4 local numbers that have called me whose numbers I don t recognize so have left the calls go to answer phone but shortly after my answer phone message starts, they hang up. They are probably all from the same organization all calling from different numbers. So far the numbers who have called me are as follows: 01978 638019 01978 638253 01978 638486 01978 638995 I just wish I had bought a better landline phone to block these and other nuisance spam

This sounds very dodgy from the start but I played along, chatting with a lady with a foreign accent. It's eventually got to the stage where she asked me for my bank account and sorting code, at which point I asked her a very personal question. She then swore at me and hung up. She had mentioned postcode lottery, and assured me that I had won a European holiday and £399 in cash at one point she said the company was called something like travel and leisure.

Fraud: This was a text received stating someone was trying to change recipient details on an HSBC account and they wanted me to confirm details and authenticity. However, I have not had an HSBC account for more than 4 years. Please report the number to your phone carrier and apply the normal block and spam filter to the number. This number is a company called Natural Essentials. They flog over-priced vitamins and supplements to vulnerable elderly people. They are really persistent. When they come up against call blockers, they instantly re-dial with alternative numbers. Just recently they are even switching to international numbers in an effort to bypass.
