Got a txt message "order confirmation. Thanks for placing an order of ?127.49. Go to bit.ly/1KYBlnF to manage your order" I didn t follow the link. Didn t place any orders. I applied for a boiler and got few replies yesterday. I left my mobile number. It s the only way anyone could have got my number within last few days. Can anyone else think of something similar that could have let the scammer obtain their number?

This is aqua credit card. They called because I had attempted to make a large transaction. They asked me if I made that transaction and two other recent transactions. They knew who the transactions were with and for how much, and the caller addressed me by name. Basically, I’m convinced it was really them. To verify they were talking to me, I was asked for the first line of my address and postcode, my date of birth and the first two letters of my memorable information.
