Claims to be BT technical regarding illegal use of broadband band and a threat to disconnect. It’s not it fake. Also calls from other numbers in completely different locations.

Call claimed to be from Vodafone retentions department promising me a 40% discount, asked me a bunch of security questions and then asked me to read him the code from a password reset email that he had triggered on my Vodafone account. This apparently would enable him to send me the priority app so I could access 5G calls and VIP features. Alarm bells at this point. I said I'd call him back then checked with Vodafone. They confirmed that this is not a number they use and not to give out any information. SC

The caller said that they were from the National Grid and needed to change my meter. Apparently it is malfunctioning. This is a prelude to trying to get my bank details I thin; I didn't hold on for long enough to find out.

One of many similar calls, third time this week. Same automated female voice telling me that two unauthorized transactions on my Amazon account and an international money order have been made this morning and that I should press one or two on my keypad for further details, I hung up again.

This number is used by scammers. My experience is that they advised me that my PayPal account had been used suspiciously, and invited me to call this number and get the supposed transaction cleared. What made this so dangerous, was the fact that they used the Paypal site giving this number to contact to resolve the problem. Very cute, they nearly caught me, but they asked too many questions about bank accounts, which set the alarm bells ringing. Asked why, the call was terminated.

Automated call this call was a recorded message saying about bank security and that transactions have taken place if its not the case to press either 1 or 2. I've had so many of these and know it's a scam. My elderly brother went all the way through to speak to someone and realised at the last minute it was a scam so put the phone down but it worried him so much he rang his bank to make sure everything was alright. This number called me and when I answered, the voice from a foreign male person spoke. I advised that they had just called me but they said that had not done so. This was the second time I received a call like this from another number (07565 827573), within 10 minutes of each other. I believe this was a SPOOFING SCAM and advise anyone who receives anything like this to be on your guard and not give ANY personal information away ... not even your name.
