They seem to simply get your number - ie, they "ring" - but it registers on your phone as only lasting 0.00 seconds in duration.

Claimed to be calling from the Philippians wanting "a quick marketing question", but asking for a name/number combination which has only ever been used by fraudsters - I have attached various names to my number to be able to keep track of which database originated the calls
