Attempt to upgrade insurance cover (and premium)and sometimes claim they are calling with important info about your (existing) policy even though they then offer additional services you specifically declined at policy outset-usually they pull these stunts in the first couple of weeks of policy commence/renewal

sent text pretending to be my service provider claiming my payment failed and they are diverting outgoing calls to the payment line
PPI rubbish. when i told them i wasnt interested and asked them to remove me from the calling list they were very rude and refused to do so.
Indian sounding man purporting to be from the Telephone Preference Service. Sounded extremely unlikely. Probably a scam. I put the phone down.

Called both my landline and my mobile on a Sunday evening. Clearly a Birmingham number. I know the university does fundraising drives amongst alumni but these calls stress not just a nuisance but very intrusive. I understand the Uni says it wants to improve the lot of students but given the vast fees students have to pay that really do not equate to what they are provided with, I think it's a joke, not to say insulting, chasing alumni for money in this devious manner.
