Caller claimed to be from BT and told me there was a problem with my Internet line. I hung up and rang BT to check. It wasn't them.

They should not be doing this! There are a few things that you can do to stop them making calls to you in the future, and help to stop them making calls to others. You can register your landline or mobile number for free with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) - an industry body that gives customers the option to outline what kind of calls they are willing to take (opt in) and those they are not willing to accept (opt out). 135 phone calls from this or similar number in past 48 hours. Some invest mob who clearly just want to harrass people and make their mental health suffer with harrasment. Blocked the first 20 odd number but it just keeps coming. Asked them nicely to stop which 1 or 2 laughed at that.

Company trying to "review" my life insurance. I tried to politely tell him that I was not interested but he wouldn't take no for an answer. Ended up putting the phone down and now blocked. Had a call from similar company a couple of weeks ago too.
