The telecoms company Gamma Telecom Holdings Ltd That sold this number also supply a list of phone numbers to call. You are on that list if this number phoned you. Call centre - Answered this call from a "London based" number. Asian accented male voice, company name unrecognisable trying to sell monthly mobile phone deal. Suspect this is a Calcutta based operative going through a hub to look like a UK caller. Almost impossible to understand the badly fractured spoken English. Hung up because I said it was a rubbish deal.

Phoned today at12.15 pm. Fairly gruff voice. Purportedly from BT. Asked me to confirm that I had been in touch with BT this morning. As I had, I said yes. There was some hesitation and a lot of background noise. I asked what he wanted. He asked if contact was by phone or mail (I think). I replied that the contact was on the internet and he abruptly ended the call.

Recorded womans voice saying she was from BT and that our landline was going to be disconnected.
Recorded message saying amount had been charged to my Visa card. No company name given by message. Said my card could be blocked if I didn t get in touch to sort it out.
