He asked me to confirm my name - which I didnt do. Asked him who he was and what did he want and he put the phone down. Laid the phone down for 15 mins then rang off.
Tried to call back but the number was disconnected. Weird.

This is Scottish Power - ring the complaints line 0800 400 200 then listen to the options (I did 4 then 1). I spoke to nice man who logged my complaint and my number will now be removed.
SCAM!! Called saying someone was trying to buy an iPhone on my account. They sent me an Amazon authentication code and wanted me to tell them what it was! I think this is so they could gain access to my account. Very scary they could do this. I have now changed my Amazon login details!
