Called to say from MBNA and that there was a problem with the account. Indian (asian) voice. Wife was very rude to him. The number that came up was the same as the MBNA help line number with extra 2 added at the end. Called MBNA - very helpful - no they had not contacted us. MBNA say they always text before ringing and only speak to main account holder.
Fraud - Robo message saying "This is 'bank' security, we have detected an unuthorised transfer..." Its a definate scam! What bank? If a transfer was "Unauthorised", then it should have been declined by the issuing bank, if not, the 'bank' would be liable! Reporting these calls to Actionfraud is a waste of time - nothing happens and it is a difficult process. It is about time this matter became an election issue! It is actually pretty simple to fix with current technology

Stated they'd been asked by my local council to contact me as I might be interested in placing adverts with them in their magazine which aimed to deter nuisance callers in the Dorchester area. Showed on ID as an International 1988888308 claimed to be BT Security in a computer generated voice exactly the same as 01988300688 earlier this morning. I am now convinced as a scam because BT would not use an International link.
