SCAM: Automated female voice, claiming to be from BT, who have supposedly been trying to call me urgently, because of ‘suspicious activity’ on my account. My internet & line will be disconnected. Press 1 to speak to an ‘executive’ to rectify this. The call supposedly came from the Turks and Caicos Islands UK Representative, Baker St, London. Probably a spoofed number.

03 numbers are non geographic, ie, can be from anywhere in the UK. Businesses use them. Supposedly cheaper to call than 08 numbers.

Annoying but legit caller - tried to get a loan quote for a car but didn t actually give the quote, instead refers through to a salesman to contact you. Hence the call.

These calls are NOT from a government department, they are from a company flogging boilers. A company that breaks the law by using automated recorded calls without the receiver s consent, ignores the TPS, and lies to say that "all houses must be upgraded by" ... there is no cut off date where you MUST upgrade your house. Do not deal with companies that break the law 3 times before you even get to speak to them. It s simple.
Scammers, hung up as soon as they started bleating on about some appliance warranty.
