Have just been called from this number......was an automated message telling me it was HMRC and I need to call back on the number they gave me and if I do not I will suffer severe legal consequences! HMRC do NOT telephone you out of the blue! Please DO NOT respond to this call

They re trying to sell you hold music and messages for your phone system. They claim they work with suppliers associated with your company and state they want to work on a big project with you and your supplier. Obviously a lot of Google bashing goes on before they phone you. They refuse to speak to anyone or tell you anything unless they re speaking to the owner / managing director of the company. Fraud. Apparently HMRC are using this number to advise people they have been avoiding tax! Hmm I'm no Sherlock but I think this might be a scam.
An indian sounding guy posing as a Talk Talk techie rings house phone, convinces you that your router is giving out problem signals. Gets you to go online, shows you shed load of viruses, licence expiry and explains due to this you no longer have any security on your pc, the security on pc you have therefore won t work until you pay for the licence agreement renewal and pay £400 for a lifetime security installation from Windows. He then convinces you to allow remote access so he can install drivers onto pc
