Constant calls over past week on my mobile phone. Despite having given my number to just relatives and friends I thought it could be one of these people in an emergency situation so I rang the number back but told ‘number not recognised’. Answered another

This number is used by scammers. My experience is that they advised me that my PayPal account had been used suspiciously, and invited me to call this number and get the supposed transaction cleared. What made this so dangerous, was the fact that they used the Paypal site giving this number to contact to resolve the problem. Very cute, they nearly caught me, but they asked too many questions about bank accounts, which set the alarm bells ringing. Asked why, the call was terminated.
