This landline from London area is used by call center working for non-profit organisations, mostly connected with NSPCC, Amnesty International, British legion etc. but can be used for different organisations. I m ashamed to say that I worked for Ben Reynolds for a short time back in 2012 when his company was called Crown Lawyers. Same story as these, he d get us to find people with debts, take a fee from them and then cut off all contact with them. Supposedly we d get a commission for every job taken on, but he d tell us that the person had decided not to go ahead with recovering their debt and so we got nothing. We then found out that they had agreed to pursue the debt and Ben just wanted to avoid paying us

Absolute con. I googled the number for Argos in Norwich and got the 118469 number and thought it looked odd but dialled it to find it was a directory. They asked what number I wanted and I said oh I thought I was calling Argos. They said no but would you like the number so I said yes. Surely they gave an obligation to tell me I would be charged £7 to have it read out to me! A total scam and rip off.
