Line was silent when I picked up phone then “clicked” off after about 3 secs; probably scammers multi calling.

SCAM - pretending to be from Virgin, calling to improve my internet. They don't ask for anyone by name, just the account holder. When I asked them to confirm my name they hung up.
Received a call saying that they are selling life insurance. But was actually trying to get me to provide my personal details. Hung up the call when I refused to provide my house number

I have been pestered by this number in the last day or two. These are people who claim they are Talk Talk and want me to allow them access to my computer so they can infect it. They have been calling on different numbers for over a year. I always know when I get another of their calls because the line is indistinct and the voice heavily accented. When I answered the call, the woman at the other end mentioned a company (I can't remember their name), they told me "I've been informed that you were involved in an accident that wasn't your fault. Is that right?" Clearly phishing. I asked "Who informed you?" and was put on hold. I was tempted to see what would happen next but decided to hang up.
