I was called today by man with a strong Indian accent, gave name as Stuart Anderson. He starting off asking for my husband, as he wasn't available he then gave my name and spoke to me. He said he believed we were getting nuisance, unsolicited phone calls and he works for a company that have the backing of the UK government to stop these calls. He said he knew we had be getting nuisance calls and wanted to help with that. I stopped him talking, asked him for the name, phone number and company name so that I

Been through a police investigation with this number. Police told me to look at this site and this was last summer. Sadly got stung as my PPI company had told me to expect call a few days later from Barclaycard after an ombudsman investigation. By sheer chance the scammers selected Barclaycard as their choice of provider and the call was indeed a few days later.

Definite scam. Claimed (falsely) to be Harry from Carphonewarehous3 in London calling because "we have a special offer on new phones today". I live in Scotland, he's calling from London claiming to be a big phone store. They would never ring me like that, nor you either. How could he have got my number legitimately? He immediately went into "what phone are you using?" Obviously looking to sound like he could choose an upgrade whilst scamming you out of the cost of the non-existent
