Received a recorded message (woman's voice) stating that that BT had detected suspicious activity on my line, and would disconnect the line unless we press '1' to speak to an official. I just ended the call and I suspect that this is another twist on a SCAM attempt.

I have had two phone calls (yesterday and again today) supposedly from eircom.net technical support saying that my IP address was being hacked and that she would help me block the problem. I was given anumber in New Zealand at first 049347622 and then this number.
SCAM
Says that is is HMRC and you will be arrested if you do not push 1.
Positive number
Fed up with this number calling and no-one on the end of the line. It happens almost every day at least twice. I have to answer it in case it is a real emergency, and want to stop this. They say it.s to do with an accident claim I put it in, but have NEVER put an accident claim in. Just scammers and it needs to be stopped. What I want to know is how they have our landline number when we are x-directory
