2 calls today from Indian sounding call centre claiming to be from Microsoft and asking for the computer owner, claiming that I had a virus that they could see being downloaded to my computer. They want you to allow them access to the machine to demonstrate the problem. - Obviously DON T DO IT! Just play along with them and waste their time, hopefully reducing the number of vulnerable people who might get caught out...

If you have free calls (eg free weekend and evening calls through BT) then phone them back (with 141 prefix) and tell them to check the TPS website before calling anyone. If they ask for your postcode, refuse to tell them. Also refuse to give your number, or any other information about yourself. Simply state over and over again that they are required to consult the TPS website before calling any number. If they talk over you just keep saying "Dont t talk over me, listen to me" until they stop, then tell

Told them I had been in a crash!!! The guy drove a yellow convertable with red wheel arches and had a number plate of NO DDY1..the caller persited until I said the driver was a complete clown and would give me his name... he just squirted water at me from a plastic flower on his lapel
