Recorded message telling me that 70% of loans over a certain limit can be written off and inviting me to “press 5” for an information pack I have no idea how they obtained my number since I m NOT listed in the telephone directory.

This was Durham County Council, they were trying to arrange a visit to come out and see me about a "query" on my housing benefit claim.
Answered but no-one spoke and was cut off after a few seconds so I assume it was some sort of auto-dialler. When I tried to ring it back I got a "you've dialled an incorrect number" error.

BSB Global say they are based in London very much doubt as the callers always have poor English. Trying to sell their trading platform. Once on their list, they are very persistent.
