Today I rang my service provider, Vodafone. I don t answer "unknowns" anyway, but Vodafone advised me never to answer "unknown" numbers. Apparently, some of these numbers charge you up to ?2:50 just to receive their calls!
Prerecorded message informing me my N. I. Number had been compromised. To avoid my being investigated for fraud I was to stay on the line to talk to the investigating officer. I didn't as I suspect it was melicious/scam/fraud call

Don’t answer this number 020 3784 7579 is a fraud and Scam every time they are calling with different offer . This rubbish people just try stole your money block and no answer .

Not sure if it is a scam, but concerned they knew my name, and what domestic appliances I have. We recently cancelled insurance with Domestic and General, so wondering if they have sold on our details. Told them I don't need their insurance as would by new if beyond economic repair, and the caller seemed surprised that I could fix a recent washing machine problem myself. It's not difficult to change the brushes on the motor or to unblock the filter
