They call regularly to try and sell advertising on "behalf of" various local councils and either act dumb or be cheeky when I tell them we are TPS registered.

SCAM / SPAM - the usual "have you had a car accident" rubbish
SCAM - Pretends to be BT and tells you you’re about to be cut off. This isn’t true. They are trying to get you to put an app or software on your smartphone/tablet/pc which will give them access to it and all the information on it. DO NOT LOAD THE APP/SOFTWARE.
Text message stating it was Octopus Energy. But I have an account and they normally contact via email. So I don’t trust it.

calls & rings off with no message - disturbes me when I am ill and not up to searching for the phone. it should be made unlawful to ring and leave no message, so one is left guessing, and I refuse to give them the satisfaction of ringing back, although it leaves me anxious in case missed something urgent!
