this number called me saying they are from Harrington Brooks Accountants and wanted to help me improve my credit rating after being turned down for a loan application. I know none of this is true but it doesn t stop you worrying, pleased to find all these other comments from people who have had the same thing!
SCAM: Called @13.58. 3rd scam call of the day. Automated female voice. Amazon scam, along the lines of “the iPhone 7 which you ordered has now been dispatched, and your account charged 399. If you did not make this order, kindly (!) press 1 to speak to customer services”. I left the message playing, without speaking, and it played through twice, after which the call automatically connected to a man with an Indian accent. I then played him an answerphone message from my mobile phone, and he ended the call

I was told that I could not spend the money on gambling, drinking and such so I told him that i would spend the money on my disabled husband...not a flinch from him. My husband and I are pensioners but thankfully I m still quite savvy for

Started by asking for my wife. Told her she wasn't in. Then confirmed my name, said he was offering a call blocker for unrecognised calls for free. Mentioned that I paid for my phone bill by direct debit (who doesn't?) and then listed a load of banks, none of them mine. When I laughed he got annoyed and asked why. When I told him I didnt have any banks of that name, did he just want my sort code and account number, he was talking over me and telling me to listen!!! Cut him off. Be warned.
