Phoned my business mobile this afternoon (16.47), when answered the number hung up straight away. I’m a local business based the other end of the country so I have no reason for a London number to be calling me.
Called re PPI - I always hang up.

Automated answer informed me that my national insurance and bank accounts had been suspended. A crime number had been issued and court proceedings instigated. I was to press “1” to speak to operative. Safe to say I hung up. Strangely the actual phone number is very close to my own phone number….only a couple of digits out.

Something about a 'case' and frozen NI number - and to call them back to discuss. Automated call. Sounds bogus.

I received a call from this number on a Saturday claiming to be from Amazon. Saying they have noticed a suspicious purchase. Redirecting me to go to my laptop/computer. Wanting me to download a “REMOTE ACCESS APPLICATION” and enter the codes they send etc. I knew straight away from the Indian accent that it was a bogus call but got as much information as possible. The call location came up as “YORK UK” so when I asked him questions about York he also couldn’t answer those questions because he was in MUMBAI!
