There was an unpleasant surprise on my phone bill last week. I got charged an outrageous sum, allegedly calling this number even though I am 100 % certain I have not. Upon googeling the number, I found some people in a similar situation as I am. The question is: what to do next and who are they? Obviously you can t call them - that will just cost you another charge. All I know for certain is that I won t be paying for a call I haven t made!

Received a call from this number today asking me for my work ID number. Refused to provide as the person who did not identify himself when calling my private phone number. Asked from where he obtained my number got no answer. When calling back, person did not take call. Going back to base explained the incident to my manager, manager called this number from the office landline caller took the call and was still demanding the ID number said he will get it anyway and hung up.

A guy stating his name was Jerry and claimed to be calling from Glasgow about gas boilers but sounded Indian called me from this number. After stating that I didn't have gas he hung up. I looked up the number and it appears to be a London number. Do these people not know where they are in the UK or are they calling from abroad?
