Call centre. Appeared not to hear me and I rang off. One of many similar nuisance telemarketing calls.

Said he was called David, kept asking how I was. Calling from British Gas to say there is a problem with our meter. I challenged him and he said if our bill was wrong it would be my fault and that the call was being recorded. I told him I had made a note of his number and would contact British Gas direct. This is a scam to enable someone to change your account to another company without your permission and brokers are not covered by the energy ombudsman so the customer has no come back.
SCAM
Whoever this was, they phoned my mobile number, and not recognising this call, I belatedly answered it - no-one on the other end of this call - ANNOYING.

SCAM It's Tom the insulation guy. Calls frequently but this is a new number. Says loft insulation is causing damp and we can get a free survey and an alternative. Went with it - he checks you're old enough to be vulnerable (65-85 or 85+) and that you're the home owner and takes a surname. Bloke from Protec loft insulation calls you back to arrange the visit to take money off you for something you don't need.
I suspect this company called my company switchboard based on my LinkedIn profile as I have never supplied my work number outside of work and is not publicly advertised. Cold called to ask whether I had a UK pension because they can give me ?advice?. Yeah right. SCAMRADAR activated.
Don’t speak and hang up after 1 min of being in the phone, trying to scam voice recognition from people for banks.
