An Asian lady phoned my landline claiming she was from Microsoft and that my computer had been hacked. She asked me to carry out some procedures. I have a cold so excused myself as needing a drink. As a retired computing person I knew this was dodgy. She has rung twice more, but I didn't answer. Getting these calls from a UK number is a new move. Surely BT can track down who is registered to this number.

We have no connection with calls being made to consumers under the name Albany Assist (or similar names). We believe these calls are targeting individuals to fraudulently obtain information relating to road traffic accidents and possible injuries sustained by the driver and/or passengers. Albany Assistance does not make unsolicited out bound calls.

SCAM / SPAM accident company, never answer any calls if you are not sure, cgeck them first online and block them, they have a new tacktic how to get your phone number, usually through your advert on gumtree, if you put an advert and want to sell something and you will put your phone number then they will call you straight away, so don't put your number, even if you don't show your numver on gumtree they will message you through gumtree saying they are interested in your item and ask for your phone number, s
