Scam from the 'HMRC' with risk of fine or even jail

Some halfwit purporting to be calling on behalf of Carphone Warehouse but mysteriously also on behalf of my provider - who he then had to ask the name of. He went round in circles whilst I asked him how he had got hold of my details and why he had to ask who my provider was. I mentioned GDPR and illegal use of my date, informed him that I would immediately report the number and block it and hung up.
Aggressive, insistent, tells me my computer is about to be "thrown off" by Microsoft & Windows. Was previously on phone for 2 hours grinding me down & put something on my computer which I had to pay for. I then had to take computer to a ligit place to have the scam removed, but they have called again today insisting I have to do as they say, which I did not do this time - once bitten and all that.
