This is genuine. I just had it and went into HSBC nearby me and called from there, but annoyingly it was over a £10 payment! Waste of time, but at least they do check from time to time. Agree that they should have this number up on their website, and also it came up as Withheld on my mobile, so I didn't answer it anyway.

First of all they are phoning from a number that shows up as 01326, this is local to my area but there is no way on earth they are from here. It looks like a trick to get people to answer a local call. They claimed to be the "Pension department" when i pushed them on this they eventually gave a real company name, but i didn't understand the person on the phone properly but it was "???? financial services ".
